not ur fault
By ALI

Clip to ScrapBook
I have a co-teacher who is very similar to your co-teacher. I don't think you should be blamed. A teacher should be competent enough to get her own walkie-talkie! She is at fault for not having taken the first step in preventing
what happened! If she would've done that, none of this would've happened.

Yes, hindsight may be 20/20, but we do the best we can in any given situation. I wouldn't have sent another child in with her either. That's embarrassing for her and the other child.

At my school we also have walkie-talkies we are supposed to bring outside. Our district rule states that one teacher can

supervise two classrooms on the playground. That would be approximately 25 kids per class, which means about what you had on the playground. We would also be in huge trouble if we sent other students off the school property to find the child who took off. If a student had gotten hurt, hit by a car, etc while off property while at school, that's a HUGE lawsuit waiting to happen. She's lucky nothing like that happened.

You shouldn't be blamed. I really can't believe that some posters are blaming you. She should've brought her walkie-talkie out with her. She could've also sent another reliable student into the building immediately after that child took off to notify the ofiice that she needed help. She obviously had enough time to do that considering she had enough time to send other kids off the property to look for that boy. Like I said, hindsight is 20/20.

I sure hope your principal has a good talking with her!
