i'm not going to place blame...but i had a thought when i first read your post yesterday; i've reread it and all the responses, and no one has posted along these lines...

i agree with the poster that mentioned hindsight--we never know what we're going to do until something we didn't expect happens--and later we think of better ways of handling the situation: oh well.

here is my idea (doesn't really help now, of course): it sounds like you knew your partner was unreliable; you knew that your aspergers kid needed to be watched. perhaps you should have taken him along with you.

just an idea for "next time".
