Clip to ScrapBook
It seems with all the info that it is an administrative issue that you have about 25 kids apiece and you have two with major special education issues. Hindsight is always great. I think you all need to do some major administrative
review and plan what to do with a bolter. You should have had walkie talkies, an aide, a plan for the runner. I still think that the priorities were screwed up when you look back. You left your partner with a child who is unpredictable and a bolter to boot and thought it was more important to walk the Down's syndrome girl in because of embarrassment. I bet some compassionate
peer friends could have done that or perhaps if you feel competent handling the 49, you could have asked the other teacher to take her in. I'm sure you are not the only compassionate person in your building. Safety over embarrassment.
