I am basically in the same situation you are - One more year until tenure and one of the last hired at my school. Sadly, I have been told that I probably won't have a position at my school next year, but hopefully will have one at another school. We are potentially losing seven teachers, but the principal was kind enough to call each of us into her office and personally and privately tell us what was up, and then followed with a faculty meeting to expalin the situation to everyone. About as fair as she could be and I very much appreciated that, even though it bites! It's only right to let people know what's going on so they can start with the job search if needed.
