I must be lucky! By K

I have absolutely loved every secretary that I have been around. That includes the secretaries at my two student teaching schools and the three schools where I substitute. None of them have ever been rude or disrespectful| to me. As a matter of fact, the secretaries are usually the first ones to smile and say hello every morning and make me smile back because they are so nice and friendly. One of our college professor always told us that the three most important sets of people at the schools are not the principals, but the secretaries, janitors, and lunchroom workers. I am one of those people who | | try very hard to be nice to everyone, but I do not find it a chore to be nice to any of these people at any of the schools where I have worked. Here are just a couple of positive examples: One of the secretaries at one of the schools where I did my student teaching still likes to know how everything is going and is very supportive. After subbing in one room for a week and a half, the janitor made a point to come by one afternoon after the kids had left. She said, "Mrs. X, I wanted you to know that it sure has been a joy working around you. You do a great job with the kids, and I really hope you get a teaching job here." That was one of the best compliments I've ever received! I guess I've just been extremely blessed in that area!
