I don't think there's any harm in interviewing with other districts, since you don't know if you'll be offered a contract for next year. It seems pretty late to me to not know if you have a job next year, which is a dumb move on the school/district's part...It seems like they will lose more teachers that way.

I can't believe that the other poster isn't being renewed just because the principal has another teacher in mind!! That is the most unfair thing I've ever heard in my life, and it's one more reason why I think that the education system in America needs a complete overhaul! That's another vent, though...
