I agree that teachers should have input based on past experience with a family. Certainly, who wouldnt agree!? Even an adult can decide they just can't take another year of "Little Johnny's family"!

But what do you mean
about a "especially in a world where parents feel so entitled". Aren't the children theirs to raise? Won't each day in the eductional setting affect their homelife if it is not good setting?

Yes, we all know there are too many parents that don't care. There are also too many paernts who think the teachers, school districts, even politicians should raise their children for them.

Some of those parents may even be teachers themselves. None of us is perfect.

But parents who really care, know that they are ultimately responsible and if their child suffers, or if their child ends up lashing out, they will be the one the teachers, schools or police call.

I feel terrible when I read such negativity on the part of other grown-ups that have a chance to affect future generations in positive ways.
