I know what you mean... By LG

I had a bad summative evaluation this year based strictly on gossip. I am a first year teacher as well. When my vice principal did my two observations, she said that I did a wonderful job during my lessons and with classroom| management. The lady that observed me from the central office said the same thing. However, when it came to my summative evaluation, the main principal told the vice principal to give me an "unsatisfactory" in the professionalism portion of my evaluation. She said that she had "heard bad things about me." How dare she! The woman has only been in my classroom once this ENTIRE year! | | To me, if she thought that I was doing such a bad job, it is HER job as a principal to come into my classroom on a regular basis. Some of her bitty, gossipy friends that work at the school do not like me. I am not sure why, but the lies that they made up hurt my evaluation. My point is...even if I was not treated fairly, it is up to me to move on. I know that I am a great teacher. Of course, I still have a lot to learn because I am new at it. When I go on interviews for this upcoming year, I will describe my old school as a challenge. Try to always keep it positive in your interviews. The fact that you are a good teacher will shine through. Before the interview, plan what you will say about your old school if asked. Remember, KEEP IT POSITIVE. It will only look bad on you to tell a negative story about your old school, even if it is the truth. Good luck to you! You will be fine.
