To Go or Not to Go That is The Question!
By Carol

Clip to ScrapBook
Annon,

I hear ya! What I do when that happens is I tell the kids that if they really have to go then they must go to the office and use the nurse's bathroom. That stops the parade and the whining and gets me off the
hook. Believe me, if you let them go after someone complains and lays down the law, you'll get written up or excluded from that class or school.

Shift the burden onto the office. I've heard of kids who will pee their pants just to get back at the sub. I had one girl who purposefully (although I couldn't prove it) threw up in the trash can when I wouldn't let her go to the restroom.

I had my orders (no bathroom) and she had her agenda. Long story short, she won I lost.

The teacher didn't write me up but I never got to sub his class again and he was the one who told me not to send anybody to the bathroom-period. I don't know if he blocked my number or not but one wonders.

Personally, I just hate it when they come in and yell at the kids. It makes me feel stupid. It would be more effective and less stressful if they would talk to us and let us deal with the kids instead of bursting into the room like a whirling dervish! Sometimes they scare the bejeebers out of me!
