Appeals process

Since you went to a state school (that is funded by the state) is it possible for you to take your appeals to the state level? I'm not very familiar with the judicial process. I graduated from BloomU a few years ago and I know that fellow students were able to fight alcohol-related convictions that prevented them from student teaching experiences.
