I have heard the same thing...only apply to the ones that are vacant. If you don't and you just apply to any school and send in your info, they may hold onto it, but it will get placed in a file and maybe forgotten. My good friend was a superintendent and filled me in on some of this.

Anyways...it is a tough system to get into...plus I live in such a small area that there are only ever two or three vacancies each year!

Another thing....I am young and excited to teach, but I am married, own a house and have two little boys (five and three years old). THIS makes my options TOUGH......afterall, I can't afford to look too far out of my 'range' for MANY reasons...UHHH!!
