Teaching Profession
By Jess

Clip to ScrapBook
The teaching profession is such a tough profession to get into that we cannot be picky. I, too, felt that I was meant to be somewhere else. However, I now feel that the job I took was where I was meant to be. Are the schools
you want to work in the same district as the other two openings? It sounds like a school with very few openings. The board of education has suggested you apply for the open positions. I would think this could hurt you in the end. I would take the openings and then transfer within the district. I would do the same even if they are not in the same district. I took the job opening
offered to me and I love it now. The first year was tough. I have friends that did not get a job and three years later are still looking. Even the maternity leave isn't promising. The teacher could come back. Seeing it from the inside of the schools, I would say that there is a chance you may end up without a full-time teaching position even in the future. Good luck to you.
