tesselation art

I love doing tesselation art and so do my students. It takes a few days to complete them well. I use only a square pattern (3 or 4 inch) and allow two "slices and slides" one from each of two adjacent sides. The students
tesselate the pattern over a 12 by 18 inch construction paper. Then, they decide what the shape resembles for detail and coloring. I recommend only a two alternating color pattern. This is hard to explain, but this site may help:
