listening center
By Jennifer

Clip to ScrapBook
I have taught first and as I introduced various story components (setting, main character etc) I would ask students to complete a simple sheet focusing on one of the elements. As students learn, they could complete a sheet with multiple elements. I have also focused on beginning , middle and end etc.....I find with first that your goal is to have them listen and comprehend...but not spend the whole time worrying about the sheet they need to complete! Keep it simple as you start.....Jennifer (ps. when i looped to second, my students had a listening center response book (I purchased, but you could make) and they then had to summarize the story, record title and author and their opinion of the book....)
