I understand what you are saying. There's always pressure to OUT perform the latest, greatest teacher on the charts. However, I (and it sounds like you, too) became a teacher to teach, not to schmooze. If I do the best for my students, I feel successful. If I take on too many other responsibilities, my students suffer and I feel like a failure. I think you know best!
