Kids good, team bad
By Laura Mae

Clip to ScrapBook
I love my fourth graders. We only have 9 days left. They were sooo low at the beginning of the year. I have many students who came to me from one particular third grade teacher who did little more than just show up to
draw a check last year. They have progressed wonderfully. I have had zero parent problems this year for the first time ever.

I despise my grade level team. I just can't win with one of them. If I share ideas with her in our grade level meetings, she accuses me of trying to tell her how to do her job. If I don't share my ideas, then I'm accused of not being a good team member. I give

up. She smarted off to me today in a crowd of other teachers. She got mad because I didn't have to stay after school today for an inservice meeting. I already have my hours in. Somehow that made her mad. It would take too long to explain her ugly remarks here, but she was rude. She wants to tell me how to do everything. If I tell her that I already know, she gets all mad. She is a control freak. I guess I'm not allowed to know something unless I learned it from her.

I can put up with her for 9 more days, but I'm already starting to worry about next year.
