It really is a great program. Great idea about the Gallon bags, maybe I will try that next year. It is very important that you get training on the program. It is a great way for kids to learn alternative strategies for basic facts. I especially love the lattice method for multiplication because my 4th grade students are confidently able to multiply multidigit by multidigit problems! They even think it is fun! I think it would be a good idea to start switching to this program two years at a time starting with K-1. This program teaches vocabulary very early! If you have to switch all at once make sure you learn all of the alternative strategies so that you can teach them.
