I'm certified K - 6, and I went on interviews for evreything in that spectrum. I really wanted to teach K - 2, and ended up being offered a 2nd Grade position, but you'd better believe that if they had offered me 6th Grade instead, I would have said "Thank you very much," and headed toward my classroom. I think everyone has an idea of what they'd like to teach, but realistically it's not an option for most of us to hold out for our "perfect" grade level/subject area/school enviornment.
