horrible is not the half of it!!!

Clip to ScrapBook
This is my second year teaching 4th and it was a NIGHTMARE!!!! You would think the first was horrible, well this year is NOTHING compared to my life this year.
1) horrible partner with 13 years prior experience and
National Board Certification, but can't seem to communicate with parents or handle special ed kids, or for that matter, kids in general. She was like a stoic, army general. No warm fuzzy, very sarcastic, loved to be on the computer all day. Blamed her poor evals. on the special needs kids. Threatened twice to be "non-renewed", and is now leaving school everyday early to go to interviews.
Heaven forbid that she actually gave me a clue as to what is going on. But hey, communicate with your partner, who does that!
2)6 IEPs (I love each of them), but mixed with 13 in "problem solving", 6 different ADD or ADHD, 2 ODD and 1 Aspergers...like I said, love each and every one of them, but combined it was HORRIBLE. Plus because of #1 being old school and believing they shouldn't have been in the reg. classroom, made the whole thing such a treat
3)Catty co-workers who won't share a thing--although my planning group shares everything short of our left arms...
4) new support ed, who bless her, had no clue about the curriculum b/c she normally does a different grade
5) Feuding room moms...couldn't have team parties together. IE: One wants water guns at the end of the year party, other claims how "disrespectful" that would be to the girls in the class. What if they have on white shirts?!!!! she says. THEY ARE 9 and 10 years old!!!!! Can't play marshmallow string game either, might be too provocotive (sp?).

I really don't want to sound like a big complainer, but really this year was exhausting. I honestly don't think I will be too disappointed when this year is over. I do love the kids in a kinduv "I'll miss you" way, but geez go to fifth grade PLEASE!!!!!
