what to wear...
By Alicia

Clip to ScrapBook
Last spring I interviewed at a school I had been long-term subbing at the same time. I interviewed on my prep time! I had a few minutes before the interview to prepare. I did change into a pants and a matching suit coat.
Although I knew everyone who participated in my interview, and they had seen me in my teaching clothes, I still felt it was necessary to dress appropriately for the interview.

Right after my interview, I ran to the bathroom and changed into some grubby clothes, because we went outside to play kickball. The interview team saw me in the hallway after my interview while I was taking my class

outside for the game. It was pretty funny! I got the job though!

It is really important to look professional. I personally would wear some sort of blazer or suit coat over a dressy blouse. I wore cream colored pants and a matching cream colored blazer; a light blue blouse underneath. I also feel it is a good idea to wear close-toed shoes which is what I did. Remember that you want to be comfortable too. You'll already be nervous and uncomfortable (most likely), so don't let your clothes add to that discomfort and nervousness!
