Behavior system
By 5th grade teach

Clip to ScrapBook
My son is in kindergarten, and the teacher has a system that has worked for her. On a posterboard, she drew a fish tank, complete with 4 layers (the sun, at the top, shallow water, deep, dark blue water, and sand at the
bottom). She laminated it. She then put each child's name on a paper fish, and laminted them seperately, and put a square of velcro on the back. When the kids get to school each day, all their fish are at the top, in the 'sunny zone', stuck to a strip of velcro. For the first behavior infraction, the child moves his fish to shallow water, than to deep water, and finally to 'sandy bottom'.
There
are consequences that go with each level. The kids themselves move their fish, so they get immediate feedback when they misbehave. The teacher also gives them a chance to move their fish up if the behavior improves.
