Clip to ScrapBook
I have been teaching on the same team for three years, and every year, the kids are terrified of the math teacher. SHE'S MEAN! They're too afraid of her to ask her for help, so during homebase, I am usually tutoring kids
in math, even though I'm the lang. arts teacher. Does she ever get annoyed! She says over and over, "I don't understand why they go to the language arts teacher for math help, but I won't help them if they do that." I am about to tell her why they go to the lang. arts teacher. Also, she gets several parent complaints a year, all the same thing: My kid is too afraid of you to learn
in your class. But she never figures it out. She has been teaching for 27 years, and needs to retire. So I get the little comments, too. I suppose if teachers like this think they're effective, there's not much a teammate can do about it, but you may want to have a one-on-one with her and clear the air.
