similar situation

I'm in a similar situation, only it's the opposite. My team thinks I'm too mean and I think they are too nice. I feel as though I'm like you. Very middle of the road. Tough at times, but encouraging. The kids respect me and do work for me and I don't have many problems. No more than the other teachers, at least!It's just different philosophies and values that come out in us when we teach or discipline. Don't take it personally. I have to keep reminding myself that I am not doing anything wrong, we all just have different styles. Also - your co-worker does need to keep the comments to herself. It's petty and makes her look stupid!
