I'm not sure how it is in your area but here third grade is a pretty big year. They start learning cursive and multiplication. It's kind of hard because there is SOOOO much to cram in there! But I do have to say that I taught first grade for a while and I like third grade much better. The kids are just old enough to be through the baby stage and just young enough to not have the eye-rolling, "whatever!" preteen attitude! Good luck!!!
