Passes
By Bob

Clip to ScrapBook
At the beginning of the year, I make a cardboard pass from scrap cards. On one side, I write the rules for the hallway and restroom. I have spares ready for when they get ruined.

Later, I allow students to make decorative hall passes within set guidelines.

I agree with previous posts--hall passes are archaic in an age when we must be careful with serious diseases. Quite frankly, do students really wash their hands for 20 seconds with soap and water?

My other concern, if hall passes are used for security, how effective are they, really? Many times I do not notice how long a student has been out.

Is there a better technological method?
