Ann Marie, Hi! Just wanted to add my two cents on something you guys might want to consider. Unless everyone really loves the subject that they opt to teach, it can be tedious. My team team-teaches. We have four| classes. We divided teh whole grade for reading by level. We each teach each other's kids for that. Then, it's split into two teams. This is the first year I have done it and here are the problems that I ran into. 1- We have certain amounts of time that have to be spent on a couple subjects that left things a little rushed for everthing else. Like, we have to spend an hour on math, | | which I teach to my class and my team-mates' class, but there is no time constraint on how long her subjects have to be. That has created some poblems. I feel like I'm flying through my science lessons, but she can do a pretty even split between her SOcial studies and Language arts. 2- I don't ever feel like I do as good a job teaching to the second group as I did the first group. It's something I'm aware of, and try to keep from doing, but I'm short with them, tired of the material, and frustrated because I feel like i've been hearing the same questions all day, because I have. The other team adores it, they've team taught together for almost ten years. But I've asked to be self-contained next year. Also, if your co-workers don't work togeher REALLY well, it can cause some serious problems. Hope this was helpful!
