Just say No By HappyWoman

My advice is never let others "egg you on" just because they have issues with the principal. A "vote of no confidence" is when the majority of the staff (or the entire staff) gets together and sends a letter to the school| board and the principal's superior stating why they're displeased and why this principal should be fired. Unless the principal is bothering you, stay out of it. I agree - especially if you don't have tenure. If you go against her, she can and will take it out on your evaluation. I've seen principals fabricate stories and downright lie to get revenge against those they perceive as threats | | to their power. It happens all the time and they get away with it because administrators stick together. And even the *worst* principals RARELY get fired in my district and we have quite a few from the bottom of the barrel in my opinion (Tucson Unified School District). On the other hand, my principal (a male who is terrfied of women, especially those with strong personalities) tends to get back at our staff (everyone hates him and he knows he's inadequate) by finding at least two things wrong with our teaching and it goes on our evaluation. I just laugh. I'm tenured - 14 years in the business now. LOL! Remember: look out for yourself. I promise you that no one else will. It's a harsh reality. Good Luck!
