Against home schooling
By Stacy

Clip to ScrapBook
I am SO against home schooling unless the child has a medical reason to keep them home. I feel this way for several reasons:

1.) The parents are really not held accountable for their child's performance (i.e. if a parent
wants to make farmhands out of their child instead of making them do their studies, which does happen in my area, the children do not learn anything. It is NOT fair to that child.

2.) Children are not taught the proper life skills and social aspect of growing up. I know that there are bullies and other problems at school. However, when these homeschool children are in the workforce

when they get older, how are they going to know how to deal with problems if they have been sheltered at home for eighteen years?

3.) If a parent does not like the way that a child is being taught at school, work with them at home after school, in the summers, and any other time. Honestly, how much actual school work do you think that homeschoolers do during the day?

I know that I went off on a soap box, but I feel that homeschool is a terrible injustice to a child. It is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to make them a well rounded individual when they only see their own parent all day long.
