First off, I took the NYS Teacher Certification exams and passed them with good scores. I'm sure the tests in Florida can't be harder and even if they are, I don't care. I'm not even required to get my Master's in FL, but| in NY I would need it by Sept. 2008 or I would lose certification. Even if I don't like it that much, the way I see it, it's better than working 3 PT crappy jobs here and making like not even half of the teaching salary I'll be getting at Broward. Not to mention that I'll finally be able to move out of my parents house and have health insurance. I'm looking at 1 bedroom apartments |
| and have been for months. I see plenty that go for 600-800 a month with is our price range and many of these are in the suburbs (Oakland Park, Deeerhurst Beach, etc.) Oakland Park is my #1 choice right now.I'm elementary certified so I won't be teaching at the high school. I looked at most of the elementary schools and they are very reasonable for the number of students in each school. They have to be when there is like a school on every block. I don't understand how you can say Broward is one of the worst school districts when I see so many schools receiving A's from the state and other state awards. And the reason why there are so many openings is they are trying to reduce class sizes. Are you a Broward teacher? If so, what school do you teach at?
