You might go directly to your principal, saying that you'd love to be involved on some activities/committees, but you aren't finding any openings coming your way. Ask if you can be alerted and simply assigned when one comes open, because after all, it shows on your summative eval. Then, next staff meeting, let the group stare when it is announced that you are filling a post.
