Clip to ScrapBook
I am very appreciative of substitute teachers, so thank you to begin with.
I always appreciate whatever gets done. When I plan for a sub I also leave very detailed plans, however I don't expect them to do everything I
leave for them. The kids aren't used to a different teacher and his/her style may be very differnet from mine and they may teach at a different pace. What I appreciate the most is an effort to get things done, detailed notes about what was/wasn't done and how the kids behaved. I leave grading as optional for my subs. But I do expect my room to be as clean as I left it whne I get back, and
my students know that.

I say use what works best for you, subbing is the best time to pick up new ideas and see what works for you. Also, my students love it when a sub teaches a new game or brings an activity for them to do.
