Ditto what the first two said. I just would really like to emphasize the not leaving the room a mess tip. I hate to come back to a room that has paper all over the floor, the board has not been erased, the desks are helter-skelter.| I have a very neat classroom, and every afternoon, when I go home, a neat and tidy classroom is what I leave. I want the same when I return. Since I left it in really good shape, it shouldn't be hard to return it to its original state. Also, if a sub doesn't erase the board before they leave, the custodian (in our school) won't clean the board, because they think that the | | teacher wants it saved. And on the lighter side--no going out and getting sloshed at lunch. It actually happened here--a sub went to lunch, and got really drunk. She was coming back to work and they pulled her over for drunk driving. They needed a sub for the sub! So, no drinking lunch (even though you'll probably feel like it :-)).
