Subs By Newbie

I agree with everything the above poster said, but I wanted to add...Likes: - It's sometimes a good idea to leave contact information. That way, if I like the sub, I know how to get in touch with him/her if I need them again. - A list of behavior issues. Don't just say that the class was rowdy. Tell me who did what. I can't enforce discipline if I don't know what happened because it's your word against the student's. - Leave notes about good students too so that they can be rewarded. - Try to follow the classroom routine as much as possible. I know you don't know everything that | | goes on in the room, but try your best. - It's okay to have a discipline plan as long as it doesn't override the schoolwide discipline plan. It should also be professional and appropriate.Dislikes: - My stuff being moved around. I know where everything is, even if it seems like a lot, and I know when a sub or student has messed with things they shouldn't. Respect my property. - A mess anywhere in the room (papers, chairs, my desk, etc.) - Don't leave your personal items in my room. I once had a sub leave bills and other mail on my desk. - Yelling, sleeping, talking on a cell phone...It happens, and it's unprofessional. I would much rather have too many details in notes left by a sub than no notes at all. I want to know what happened while I was gone!
