Clip to ScrapBook
I feel your pain. It won't help this time, but I heard something at a workshop last summer that had me smacking my head. The presenter work for a company that prepares kids to take SATs and the like. He said that he teaches them to read the questions before they read the passage. Then they are zeroing in on answers rather than reading word by word. Fourteen years of teaching and giving these stupid tests and it had never occured to me. We've been doing this all year and it has made a difference. We test the first week in May, so I guess I'll know then if it made the "important" difference.
