interrupting
By Kim

Clip to ScrapBook
This is a tough one for me too. I'd like to hear what others have to say.
I guess you can read them a manners book on why it is rude to interrupt.
You can also hold a class meeting and have students share on a topic and interrupt them and then debrief how it feels to be interrupted.
You can reward students that don't interrupt any time during the day with free time or stickers.
Lastly I have some sheets of paper ready to go for them to write lines: It is rude to interrupt when people are speaking. I am at school to learn. I will be a good listener and not interrupt when Mrs. _______ is teaching. I apologize for interruping, etc. I try to make it long so it is somewhat laborious for them.
