1. We were invited to go since we got all
3. Parents volunteered to bring in treats and chaperone for an hour or two. 4. We all wore our pj's and had a sleeping bag and a pillow. We would read and share about the books we were reading. We would try to relate our books to others...even if they weren't related very much at all. We had to think deep with it. (We were in 6th grade though) Now, as a teacher, we do things differently since we have to have them during the day. My kids still wear their pajamas that day and bring a sleeping bag or blanket. We cleared out the entire room (put the desks in one corner) and played soft music while the kids read. They would read for about 45 mins. then take a break. The specials teachers got into it too, so they were able to have more than one special that day. Each class had two specials that day so it got the kids up and moving too. But during the specials, those teachers read to the students too. You can definately spend an entire day on this and still cover your math too. Have the students read books like Math Curse too. Good luck and have LOTS of fun!!!!
