paraprofessional?

Have you considered being a paraprofessional or aide? I don't know, but it seems like the test would be easier. In my school district, the pay is not very high in the beginning, but I believe it can go much higher with more years of employment.

In my district, there are different types of aide jobs with different types of responsibilities for each. You might work with one individual student (kind of boring - I've done it a few times as a sub) or you might be able to obtain a much more challenging (and therefore interesting) position. A lot of our aides here work with special education students.
