working in teams

I would have a group discussion with your class and list pros and cons of working alone verses working as teams. Include: lighten up the workload, make new friends, learn new ideas, achieve great tasks, etc. Let the students come to the idea that it is in their own benefit to work well with others in order to be more successful. Give them an assignment on one day that they are to complete by themselves. Then give them another assignment they are to complete within groups. Then have another discussion comparing the results of the two and which was better
