Clip to ScrapBook
I like to assign roles, team leader, recorder, reporter, materials manager, etc. It helps that everyone knows what they are responsible for.

Also, after each cooperative group session, ask everyone what worked well, how they worked out things between them. It helps for everyone to hear how people negotiate out their ideas or if it is okay to give in on things.

I had a group that really struggled this year. It was really one person in the group. Sometimes I would just remove that person for about 5 minutes and the rest of the group would work better.

I liked that you told them to just sit down and deal with it. Sometimes that is the best thing to do. Keep reminding them that they get a grade and they better get to it.
