student teaching By deb

hmmm, your student teachign must be complete or almost complete. I hope you'll post and let us know how everything turned out. When I read your first post, I thought of a young lady I know who had a very similar situation| - was told she would probably be failed, etc., but when she moved to her second placement, they absolutely loved her there - just a different environment. I know I have worked in different wings of the same building and had very different experiences. I loved my first team. We were all friends - very different teaching philosophies but accepting of the fact that different approaches |
| work for different people and content areas. In my current wing, I feel sad and alone almost every day. I feel like every time I open my mouth to try to have a casual, friendly conversation with my team mates, two of the teachers look at each other with these knowing looks like I have two heads - who knows. One thing nobody has mentioned to you that I noticed was missing from your post. You said you try to be tactfully honest. I student taught about 8 years ago, but I was an older newbie, so maybe life experience taught me to spend my time listening and thinking. I never presented an opinion unless I was asked for my opinion. And by then, I knew what everyone else was doing and thinking, so I could truly be tactfully honest in my response. If I wasn't asked, I kept my thoughts to myself. This would serve you well in your first real job - at least until you have the lay of the land.
