subbing without a license. 30 day sub permit
By Cathy

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Louise,

This seems so odd to me. I sub in California, and any teacher here will tell you off the tremendous hoops you must jump to get a license. Finger print checks and the whole 9 yards...

But I know you said you
have that because you are licensed. What I don't understand is why they wouldn't do that for non-licensed subs... I think, I'm not forsure because I just started subbing, that it use to be that you could sub in this state without a credential... you just needed a degree and the CBEST... but when I started filling out subbing applications, I started realizing that many districts where I
live are now requiring full credentials... even to sub..

However, even before with the non-licensed subs, you still had to have a 30 day sub permit.. which was, in essense, a finger print check...

Interesting..

Cathy
