All of the above

Clip to ScrapBook
I try to keep things interesting for my students. I rotate between Literature Circles with large projects, I call book celebrations, and guided reading with books that are at their reading level. I try to focus on non-fiction
for guided reading.

I teach six readers that are three plus years below grade level, so they stick pretty close to their basals. I like to keep all the readers on near to the same topic though. But, I always include them in the mini-lesson on more in-depth reading topics. I want them to see all the reason why books are beautiful and funny too. I found that readinga-z.com is

a great website. It offres choices for all readers from primer to sixth grade level. It has a lot of non-fiction too which is tough to find when teaching on slim school budgets.

Lastly, I include two 1/2 hour times each week for Silent Reading when they choose what they want. Hope this helps.
