DIBELS
By PTT

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach at a school that has a high population of title one and esl students. DIBELS is not helping, it is pulling those who need the most help out of class for prolonged testing that does nothing but reaffirm the sorry state of their reading ability. The emphasis on pointless repedative testing that is part and parcel of the "No Child Left Behind" junk legislation is hurting schools and hurting students. This mindless pursuit of quantatative data ensures that less and less time is spent actually TEACHING!
