I agree with "Smile and Nod." I had to chuckle at this, simply because I am a big SILENT editor. I am very aware of spelling and grammatical errors- my own as well as others. There was a time when I would have been mortified if a parent had caught a boo-boo in one of my notes home. Now, well into my second year of teaching, I have learned that I have much bigger problems than the occasional typo or unfortunate word choice. This is not to say grammar and spelling don't provide evidence of knowledge and professionalism, but I have since learned that the world does not revolve around my written or spoken perfection. AND I am learning to be a little more forgiving of other teachers' errors, also. I still always ask my neighboring teachers to proofread my parent communications, though! You probably won't have to read too carefully to find some kind of error in this here paragraph I been riting.
