    NY jobs

I have to agree with Cindy. There really are no jobs in NY, unless you want to relocate to NYC where rents are impossibly high and working conditions are poor. I teach in a Catholic school after subbing in a public school for a little over a year. Most public schools won't even consider you unless you have a master's degree and three + years experience. I have also found that most school districts (at least here on Long Island) don't even interview their subs for permanent positions. Friends of my brother have been looking for years and years. I check the newspapers every Sunday and there are almost no elementary jobs posted. Like Cindy I was offered a job in Fort Lauderdale but decided to stick it out here in NY. If possible give some serious consideration to going out of state for a few years to get some experience. Good luck in your job hunt.
