Home : 2005 : March : 24
As far as the talking goes, I used it to my advantage. I started assigning group tasks that required talking, but assigned groups making sure "Best Friends" weren't together. My directions and goals were specific and if they didn't work together they couldn't do the final product. I also made sure that I kept tabs on their progress and then called parents when they were not on task enough. I admit that this was a bit more work for me at first, but it's paid off now. Fewer phone calls, more work time, less headache for me. I too always keep the "read, answer questions, discuss" card in my back pocket. I'm played it many times when needed. Just remember that March is almost over. You've made it this far and June is right around the corner. Who knows, next years bunch could be awesome!
