Third was always my favorite. I too was worried about moving to second~~NOW I WOULD NEVER go back! My second graders are the best. The are independent, plus they still want to please. I have two that are a bit immature, yet I had that in Third as well. The only real difference I see is in second no cursive, and no FCAT. I say MOVE...Good Luck
