listen and learn
By kimc

Clip to ScrapBook
"listen and learn", "smile and nod"

These are good phrases to remember. If you have been in this classroom 2 days I might suggest you repeat the above phrases to yourself several times. I think it would be highly inappropriate
for you to offer your advice at this stage of your practicum. When you take over morning message you may do it the way you so desire. In the meantime --- "listen and learn". Although your concern for the children not learning incorrect grammar is well-intentioned, your role in the classroom is as a student teacher. We pay principals and vice-principals additional salaries for
their roles of added responsibility --- it is their job to evaluate this teacher and the programme.

Your relationship with the co-operating teacher is not a reciprocal one. Your are not team members / teaching partners. You are a very much appreciated and welcomed guest in the class, enjoy your time, but remember to

"listen and learn", "smile and nod"
