Parents who want to Teach
By Karen

Clip to ScrapBook
I appreciate your situation. Each year it gets a little easier to tell what a parent's "agenda" might be.But honestly some parents are being difficult intentionally (bullying)! If you are communicating regularly via Homework outlines or Weekly newsletters, anything else needs to be done on an individual basis. I'll modify or add homework to fit the student's needs as I see fit.If I think parents need a letter about a concept I'll send an informative message with resources to everyone and they can pursue on their own. A web page is helpful as you can address things as they come up.
When it comes to parents, just like everything else in teaching, BE POSITVE, POLITE, and CONFIDENT that you are doing your best for the students. Try to build bridges! Good Luck!!
