How to stop the kids from talking
By tomztheteacher

Clip to ScrapBook
here is what will work and what won't. first off do NOT show frustration at all. This is only perceived as weakness, when a child disrupts the learning calmly but sternly tell the child to be quiet. A good idea is to have
a demerit system in place in the classroom or school. Now if the child continues to talk get a demerit slip and place it on their desk and say "thats x demerits" try not to give just one because that will not get their attention start them off with two or three. These demerits will accumulate over the semester and there will be punishments for each amount of demerits, 3 is a lunch
detention, 5 is a call home to parents, 7 the principle talks to the child, 8 is a detention or two missed recesses, and 10 is a in school suspension or something to that effect. These can be used for other ofenses however try to make an impression on the talking. YOu will find that as soon as the little ones start getting calls home and missed activities theyll be quiet. Dont be frustrated if the child has any retalitory behavior sit them down and say " what will acting out help accept for getting you into more trouble?"
